Hillsborough County, Florida — This project involved the resurfacing of SR 582 (Fowler Avenue) from west of 30th Street to west of Riverhills Drive. SR 582 (Fowler Avenue) is a six-lane urban divided roadway with a posted speed of 45 mph. The project included adding sidewalks on the north side from 30th Street to 52nd Street and making signal modifications at the Leroy Collins Boulevard (University of South Florida entrance), 56th Street, 30th Street, McKinley Drive, Raintree Boulevard, and Gillette Avenue intersections. Bike lanes were also added on this project and had to be accommodated without widening the roadway. As a cost savings, many large guide signs that were evaluated and deemed in good condition were re-used.
AIM provided roadway design, drainage design, utility coordination, permit coordination, signing and pavement marking plans, signal design, design survey, right-of-way survey and mapping, and public involvement. Survey and mapping services provided included right-of-way control survey, full digital terrain model topography, alignments, section ties, subdivision ties, and horizontal and vertical primary network control points.
