FDOT District One Enhancement Contract
 

District One, Florida – This contract encompasses miscellaneous engineering and other professional services in support of FDOT District One’s enhancement program. In addition to Collier County, FDOT District One encompasses Charlotte, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee, Okeechobee, and Sarasota Counties.

Specific tasks include the preparation of plans and documents for projects involving minor structures, minor facilities, permitting, signalization, pavement markings, field surveying and right-of-way maps, as well as a supportive work effort for a wide range of engineering, architecture and landscaping tasks. A total of 10 tasks have been assigned to date. The following are some of the tasks that have been assigned.

  • US 41 Sidewalk Improvements – Project work included preparing the construction plans for sidewalk improvements along the west side of US 41 from North of Peace River to Olean Boulevard and from Tarpon Boulevard to Midway Boulevard in Charlotte County.
  • CR 721 Shoulder Widening – Project includes preparing construction plans for five-foot paved shoulder widening along the south side of CR 721 from SR 78 to SR 78 in Glades County.
  • SR 789 Intersection Improvements at Broadway Street and Bay Isle Parkway – Project work included providing an 11 foot turning lane along the east side at the intersections of SR 789 and Broadway Street in Manatee County and SR 789 and Bay Isle Parkway in Sarasota County. The improvements were for a right turn lane on SR 789 going northbound to east bound. The improvement at Broadway Street will tie to the existing right turn lane to the south.
  • SR 789 Sidewalk Improvements – This project involved preparing the construction plans for sidewalk improvements along the west side of SR 789 in Longboat Key.
